A look at three Rebels in the draft

With the NFL Draft coming up on April 24th in Green BAy, I have some thoughts on a few Ole Miss players.

Jaxson Dart- Comp: Bo Nix

Dart is the second best quarterback in this draft class, only behind Cam Ward, in my opinion. While I understand that Shedeur Sanders is a gifted passer, Dart does more in my eyes. He is a much better runner and honestly probably has a better arm.

While I think top-ten is too high for him, Dart should easily be a first round pick in the draft. If he goes top-ten I will honestly be shocked, especially if he goes ahead of Sanders because a lot of draft experts consistently have him going ahead of Dart.

Chris “Pooh” Paul- Comp: CJ Mosely

Paul is my personal favorite Rebel. He exudes confidence and backs it up. While he might need to work on his hands, he is still one of the best linebackers that I’ve ever seen put on the Rebel jersey, I was too young to see Patrick Willis.

If I had to come up with a reason as to why he isn’t LB1 in this class, it’s probably because he doesn’t offer crazy positional versatility. Both Jalon Walker from Georgia and Jihaad Cambell from Alabama can play on the D-line and in coverage. Paul is a coverage backer through and through who can make plays on run downs if necessary. He should be a second or third round pick.

Tre Harris- Comp: Cortland Sutton

Harris is a tall, physical receiver, much like Sutton. He will not beat you with his speed, but he will break your ankles with his route running. He is also a great jump ball threat, as he had done so many times as a Rebel.

The inly thing that holds him back are his injury concerns. He dealt with a significant groin injury for most of the season, but even then he had over 1,000 yards. If he stays healthy, he will be the next great Rebel receiver in the NFL.
