Lane Kiffin once again put his signature stamp on college football’s “troll” culture following Ole Miss’ win over LSU, with his social media antics and on-field swagger to poke fun at Tigers coach Brian Kelly and linebacker Whit Weeks. Minutes after the Rebels’ 24-19 victory in Oxford, Kiffin took to X, posting a photo of Kelly’s pregame quote — “We’re going to keep that Magnolia Trophy right here in Baton Rouge where it deserves to be” — flipping Kelly’s confidence into a postgame punchline.
Earlier in the week, Kiffin stirred headlines by responding “take the over” to a photo of his daughter Landry with her boyfriend, LSU’s Whit Weeks, creating buzz both in SEC circles and among fans on social media. After the win, Kiffin joked with ESPN’s Molly McGrath, “I’m looking for Whit right now to see if we covered the over,” keeping his promise to keep receipts.
Kiffin’s trolling didn’t stop with Kelly and Weeks; his dog Juice Kiffin joined in on social media, sporting a Rebels hat and mocking LSU’s run game.
While Kiffin’s online banter may seem like gamesmanship, it's also apart of his never-miss-an-opportunity approach to motivating his team and entertaining fans. The Rebels, now 5-0 and riding high after winning the Magnolia Bowl for the third straight year.
